Local Government Day offers participants an opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of the issues facing local elected officials and professionals in Allegany County.

Through a candid dialogue with county and municipal administrators, the class will gain an understanding of what defines local government, services provided, and will discuss current and hot issues. This sets the stage to meet with local elected officials to engage in conversation about issues most important individually, or as a class. A panel of our top public safety officials outlines their roles and capabilities, as well as special initiatives, programs and services that contribute to the overall safety of our community. Participants will also have an up-close and detailed tour of the Allegany County Joint Communication Center (911).
