Leadership Allegany

Leadership Allegany is a nine-month program that begins with an orientation in September and concludes with graduation ceremonies in June. The program is dedicated to promoting positive change by creating a network of leaders with a clear understanding of the community and a commitment to its advancement.

Leadership Allegany was initiated in 1997 by the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce. The program seeks both proven leaders who are likely to assume greater responsibility within the community and individuals newly committed to making a difference in Allegany County. In an environment of mutual trust and respect, class members are motivated to take action to effect positive change.

Leadership Allegany is currently entering its 26th year and to date has graduated over 575 individuals.

Leadership Allegany participants will pursue opportunities to become closely acquainted with people from across our community, while gaining a deeper understanding of the issues facing the community.

  • Become acquainted with processes, programs, and challenges.
  • Gain an understanding of public and private operations in the county and state.
  • Participate in dialogue during topic days including: Arts & Entertainment, Economic Development, Education, Environment, Healthcare, Human Services, and Local & State Government.
