Leadership Allegany

Leadership Allegany is a nine-month program that begins with an orientation in September and concludes with graduation ceremonies in June.

The leadership program was initiated in 1997 through the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber continues to administer the program which is dedicated to developing future leaders. The program helps to identify regional issues and provides individuals with a deeper understanding of the workings of the county and state systems. Leadership Allegany is currently entering its 25th year and to date has graduated over 500 individuals.

The Allegany County Chamber of Commerce believes today, more than ever, that our future is tied to strong leadership. The more informed and involved the citizens of a community become the stronger the community. Each year, participants are selected from a diverse mix of the local population – business, the professions, government, education, religious and civic groups, the arts, organized labor, and minorities. The program seeks individuals committed to making a difference in Allegany County as well as proven leaders who are likely to assume greater responsibility within the community.
