Let's start the column this month with some great kudos: thankyou thankyou thankyou to the Chamber members who purchased tickets (and tents!) for our annual Crab Feast. We were blessed August 8 with a solid attendance and stunning weather. This is our signature fund raiser, whose support is crucial to Chamber operations. We all need to thank the mighty and majestic Mike McKay (CEO of CRDN & LaVale Dryclean) for taking time out of his business schedule to chair (AGAIN) the annual Crab Feast! |

This month I am going to take a different approach to my newsletter article. I want to start off with a quiz. Within 100 mile radius, where can you dine on Greek, Italian, French, Mexican, Chinese, and American cuisine all within walking distance of one another? What city is adding parking spaces for visitors? Where are the 11 new luxury apartments being built located? CME Engineering and Bennett, Brewer and Associates have moved thier offices to what location? Name the city that will have 4 public performance spaces by the end of the year? If you are riding the Great Allegheny Passage what municipality has tunnels above and below it?

The Allegany County Chamber of Commerce is actively seeking candidates to run for the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is composed of eighteen members, one third (six members) of whom are elected annually to serve for three years. |
